A Bristol-based luxury handbag company has taken to Kickstarter to create a "revolutionary" new bag.

Amschela, which has featured previously at London Fashion Week, has set up the campaign, which hopes to raise £35,000 to create a multi functional, gender neutral bag made from MIRUM.

MIRUM is a 100% plant-based, zero plastic leather alternative developed by Natural Fiber Welding (NFW), that will be sustainably manufactured by the Veshin Factory. The new bag AIRIUM will work towards the brand achieving 100% traceability of all materials used in its production lines by 2025.

Amschela has been PETA Approved since February 2022 and is a member of the UK SME Climate Hub, working towards the 'Race To Net Zero'. The brand is also a champion of social mobility impact, creating work opportunities for disadvantaged young people facing barriers to access in the creative industries.

Since launch, the brand has featured on Sky, ITV, Google, British Vogue , Elle , Vanity Fair , Tatler , and British GQ , whilst also winning several awards and nominations.

Keri Andriana chief executive and founder of Amschela said: "We strive to enable individuals to visually communicate who they are, what they stand for, and how they wish to be perceived. We strive for fashion to have positive societal impact with purpose.

"We are delighted to have been able to parter with such reputable brands like Veshin Factory and Natural Fiber Welding to assist us to bring AIRIUM to life. Both of these pioneering brands lead their respective fields with proven traction on how fashion does not have to be 'fast' or cause 'negative impact'; and can actually be manufactured sustainably with the most innovative of natural ingredients that are circular."
